The Patent act came in 1970 and came into force in 1972.

The third and last amendment to the Patents Act, 1970 came by the Patents (Amendment) Ordinance, 2004, which was thereupon superseded by The Patent (Amendment) Act, 2005, and Patents (Amendment) Rules, 2006, with retrospective effect from 1st January 2005.

The earliest law was the Patent and Designs Act of 1911.

A new design act came into force in 2000.

The first law was the Trade Marks Act, 1940, which had similar laws to the UK Trade Marks Act, 1938.

The Trade and Merchandise Marks Act of 1958 was enacted, and the current law is the Trade Marks Act 1999.

Copyright

The first copyright law was the Copyright Act of 1957, amended several times in 1983, 1984, 1992, 1994, and 1999.

The latest amendment was made in 2012.
